Code of Conduct & Membership Terms
By accepting your membership card you agree to follow the code of conduct laid out below.
Please note - Mucky Pups reserves the right to revoke membership at any point and the word of staff is final.
Event Etiquette
-
Consent
No means no, but so does "I'm not sure". Unless consent is enthusiastic and explicit, it is not consent. Consent can be revoked at any time. This goes for anything from head pets to intimate contact. Check in before, during and after. Individuals found to be breaking this rule will be subject to an immediate ban.
Mucky Pups operates on a traffic light system, with "green" being an enthusiastic "yes', "amber' being "I'm not too sure" and "red" being "no/stop". This makes "red" the safe word that staff will be listening out for. We understand everyone uses their own communication methods, but this one is offered as a general option that staff members and eventgoers can be aware of.
-
No Hateful Speech/Behaviour
Racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, TERF-y behaviour etc. will not be tolerated. We are a diverse community and that is how it is supposed to be. Anyone found to be engaging in hate speech or other hateful behaviour will be subject to an immediate ban.
-
No Photos Of Anyone Without Consent
This includes people in the background. Do not take photos without explicit consent from everyone in them, and do not share them without permission. No flash photography.
-
Pants On, Please!
No bums, balls or cooch. We don't care if you don't want to wear a shirt, but everything below the belt needs to be covered. If you wish to wear things like insertable tails, please ensure you are wearing bottoms that cover everything while in social areas. Not everyone wants to see your butthole.
-
Respect The Space
Clean up after yourself. Bins, wipes and everything you need to do so are provided. Please respect both other attendees and the venue by cleaning up after yourself. Equipment is also expensive, so please treat it as if it is your own and be sensible. If things get broken as a result of careless behaviour, they will not be replaced.
If you spill or break something accidentally, please let us know! Accidents happen, and you will not be in trouble. It's just easier on staff if we know when something has happened.
-
Sexual Health Is Cool
Being honest about your sexual health status is important, as is testing regularly if you are planning to meet and play with people. Mucky Pups will be making donations to Brigstowe, and will have people from the charity attending events for outreach. Your sexual health is your responsibility, and what you do is ultimately up to you, but we highly encourage taking steps to stay safe. If you have any questions, feel free to ask a staff member!
-
Communicate With Staff
If something happens that upsets, hurts or makes you uncomfortable, please alert a staff member as soon as you can. The sooner we are made aware of things, the sooner we can act. If we are informed of something after the event, it can be difficult to take action. Letting us know quickly helps us to make sure you and everyone else stays safe.
-
Your Membership Is Yours Only
You are allocated a membership number based on the name on your ID, and this is your membership only. Anyone found to be trying to provide their membership card to someone else will have their membership revoked. Membership is free and can be signed up for at any time!
